Huntington High School PTSA Starts off Year Fast
The Huntington High School Parent-Teacher-Student Association is off to an ambitious start this year. The group serves the school in a variety ways, from work on committees to helping to support and maintain an annual scholarship program.
This year’s Huntington PTSA is led by President Elaine May, Vice-Presidents Suzanne Miller and Jacqui Leonard, Recording Secretary Erika Rabinowitz, Corresponding Secretary Valerie Meszaros, Treasurer Mary Anne Whitney and Council delegates Linda Drace and Donna Smith.
The first meeting of the year is scheduled for Tues. Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. in the Huntington High School library. Huntington’s new Director of Guidance Peter Paternostro will speak and be available to answer questions.
Membership dues are $8 for parents and teachers and $6 for students. Checks payable to HHS PTSA in the proper amount can be send along with name, address and phone number/e-mail address to Huntington High School PTSA, Oakwood and McKay Roads, Huntington, NY 11743. Membership can also be secured at any meeting of the group.
The PTSA is also busy selling Blue Devil umbrellas. They are small enough to fit in a backpack, purse or briefcase and have an automatic open and close feature. The extra sturdy frame and vented units are priced at $15. To order, send a check payable to HHS PTSA to the above address.
Membership and Blue Devil umbrella order forms are both available on the Huntington School District’s website at www.hufsd.edu. Meeting dates are included on the school calendar, which is also posted on the district website.
